The Best Products for Quick 5 minute Makeup {with video}

Best Products for Quick 5 minute Makeup | Annie's Noms

Happy Thursday! Do you ever get those days where you need quick 5 minute makeup because you had to be out the door 10 minutes ago? Then today, I have you covered with my favourite products for just this purpose along with a video!

This might be quick 5 minute makeup, but I still like to look put together. I need to conceal my under eyes and blemishes, so spend the longest on my complexion. Other than that, I just like to use a pink “pinched cheek” blush, brow gel, mascara and lip balm. As much as I enjoy having a full face of makeup, this still looks beautiful and does the trick. I would happily go out without all the highlighter, lipstick, eyeshadow etc. So, let’s get into it!

DISCLAIMER: JOHN LEWIS AND LOOK FANTASTIC LINKS ARE AFFILIATE, ALL OTHERS ARE NOT. ALL PRODUCTS PURCHASED BY ME.

LUMENE INSTANT GLOW BEAUTY SERUM – £27 from John Lewis

I’ve tested loads of tinted moisturisers, sheer foundations and the like to try and find the best product for those days when you just want to even out your skin and look naturally healthy/glowy. I’ve finally found the perfect product for this and it’s from Scandi brand Lumene.

I can’t tell you how beautiful this product is. It’s lightweight, easy to apply and naturally radiant. It just had to be a part of my quick 5 minute makeup routine. It lasts all day on me, never looks heavy or caked up and is imperceptible on the skin.

Now, the shade range is not all that, but since the coverage is sheer, I think you can get away with it more. In the bottle, this looks slightly too dark for me, but blended on the face it’s perfect.

You don’t need to use much of this product either, just a few drops and you’re done. I like to place a couple of drops directly onto my brush and then do my face in sections. I use 2 drops for each cheek/my nose, 1 for my chin and 1 for my forehead.

MAYBELLINE FIT ME CONCEALER – £5.99 from Look Fantastic

This year I’m trying to broaden my makeup horizons and try out some drugstore products. This concealer is one of the products I’ve been testing and I love it! It’s amazing, it wears so well and covers all of my blemishes. It’s pretty full coverage and you don’t need much product at all. It’s lightweight and not cakey/heavy. Will definitely be re-purchasing this when it runs out!

MAYBELLINE INSTANT ANTI AGE ERASER CONCEALER – £8.99 from Look Fantastic

Another fabulous concealer from Maybelline, this concealer is lightweight, hydrating and easy to blend. It’s really beautiful and barely creases at all on me. It lasts all day and does an excellent job of hiding my dark circles.

HOURGLASS ARCH BROW SHAPING GEL, CLEAR – £25 from Feel Unique

I’ve gone on and on about this brow gel, but it really is the best! Whenever I do quick 5 minute makeup, I don’t fill in my brows properly, I just use a bit of clear brow gel to keep them in place. This gel is amazing, it holds my brows all day, yet doesn’t give me crispy brows.

NARS CLIMAX MASCARA – £22 from Feel Unique

Although I cringe every time I write or say the name of this mascara, it really is great. It’s jet black, lengthens and adds volume. Oh, and it doesnt flake off or smudge and it’s easy to remove.

Ever have those mascaras that you’re trying desperately to remove, but the bloody thing won’t come off without taking a few precious eyelashes with it? This is not one of those! I’ve had one of them recently and it was awful! Even oil didn’t get it off properly!

MILANI BAKED BLUSH IN DOLCE PINK – £10.95 from Beauty Bay

If I’m doing quick makeup, then I don’t highlight, but I do use a blush with a little glow. One that brings life to the cheeks and this is just that. A gorgeous pink blush with a little shimmer.

Obviously colour is down to personal preferance, but this colour gives me that perfect healthy glow and those cheeks where it looks like you just came in from the cold. This really breathes life into my pale skin!

SEPHORA COLLETION LIP BALM – €4.99 from Sephora

These Sephora lip balms are my favourite, I have loads of different scents, but the coconut one is my favourite. You can use whatever lip balm you want and I did use the rose one in my video, but now I’ve finished that one, I’m onto the coconut!

I also love the Laneige Glowy Lip Balms; they are gorgeous and so perfect for natural, no makeup makeup! Right now I could only find them at Amazon, but you can usually get them at Sephora and YesStyle.

That rounds up my favourite products to use when doing quick 5 minute makeup, here’s a video of me using all of these products and the look they create!
