Hiya guys, hope you’re well. Today I’m reviewing the new Urban Decay All Nighter Primer, the newest addition to the all nighter range. It is meant to be a longwear primer keeping your makeup looking fresh for at least 8 hours while being lightweight and hydrating.
The All Nighter Setting Spray is a cult favourite which I’ve used for years, so I had high hopes for the all nighter primer and let me tell you, I was not left disappointed, so let’s break it down and get into the review!

COST
The Urban Decay All Nighter Primer is £26 for 30ml of product. That works out at 80p per ml which is pretty affordable when you think how long a primer will last you.
PACKAGING
This primer comes in a plastic tube with a pump. I love a pump on my liquid products as it’s hygienic and mess free.
I realy like this packaging, I think it looks sleek and it’s functional. The lid clips on properly, so there’s no risk of it falling off and the pump doesn’t splutter or spray product. This packaging is also travel friendly as it’s not going to break or smash.
CLAIMS
- Longwear complexion primer
- Keeps makeup looking fresh for 8 hours
- Sheer and lightweight
- Hydrating
- Reduces the look of fine lines and pores
I have to say, I agree with all of these claims, bar reducing fine lines! I don’t think this has ever happened before, there are always claims I dispute! The primer is definitely lightweight and sheer, it goes on completely clear.
It is nice and hydrating, while not being greasy or sticky. I don’t get have any visible dry flakes with this primer. Some primers exacerbate dry flakes and you see flakes you never knew you had, but this doesn’t do that.
It definitely helps reduce the look of pores, they’re not invisible of course, but I haven’t had any of my foundations sink into my pores while wearing the All Nighter Primer.
Finally, I agree that this primer extends the wear of your makeup. I would even say that on me, this primer extends my makeup way beyond 8 hours. I can get a good 12 hours before things start to look a little worse for wear.
APPLICATION AND WEAR TEST
This primer goes on clear and is easy to spread. Some primers you need to use loads as you can’t spread it out, but with this primer you only need a pump and a half.
It never feels heavy or sticky, it feels like you have nothing on. Every foundation I’ve used on top of this (4 now) looks beautiful and goes on easily. I’m super impressed with this primer as it’s by far the longest wearing when it comes to concealer.
When first applied:
I usually have to reblend the concealer on my chin after a couple of hours, however, with the All Nighter Primer I don’t have to do it until it’s been at least 8 hours, by which time I probably dont care as I’ve done my day and I’m just sat on the sofa!
I can get a good 12 hours of wear with this primer with my foundation looking flawless. Then it will start to separate and become noticeable on the skin. All in all, I’ve fallen in love with this primer, it’s fantastic!
After 10 hours of wear:
FINAL THOUGHTS
I think this primer is totally worth the hype. It’s fantastic! I can’t believe how well it wears, my skin has been playing up recently, yet when I wear this primer I always have a good skin day! Now, I have over 30 foundations, so I haven’t worn this primer with every single one, but this is fast becoming a new favourite, so I’ve worn it with 4 foundations already and am planning another one tomorrow.
I test my primers for the first time with Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk as it’s my Holy Grail foundation and I know it always wears well. This means I know I’ll be able to gauge how the primer is wearing. Then I try the primer with other foundations to decide whether it really is a great primer or a one off. This is definitely not a one off, it’s amazing and if you’re in the market for a new primer, I really recommend you try the Urban Decay All Nighter Primer!
