It’s favourites time again! I can’t believe how quickly September flew by, but I did get to try some amazing products which I’m excited to share with you.
We went on holiday to Switzerland in September, but we did a road trip through France, so I managed to go into a few Sephoras along the way and picked up some amazing products!
KIKO SHADE FUSION TRIO BLUSH – £8.99 from Kiko
I’ve wanted to try some Kiko products for ages. While we were in one of our stopovers in France, we went to a shopping centre and there was a Kiko shop.
I bought a few bits, including one of these blushes. The next day I tried the blush and oh my goodness, it’s stunning! You can either use the three shades individually or swirl them all together for a gorgeous, healthy glow. We had a super long day when I wore this and it lasted all day. They’re pigmented, buildable and really easy to blend.
I loved it so much, that on our last day I went to another Kiko store and bought another colour. I really hope they bring out more colours as the formula is fantastic!
SEPHORA COLLECTION MATTE BLUSH – €11.99 from Sephora (UK people can’t get onto US Sephora, so I’ve linked the French site)
Hi, I’m Annie and I’m addicted to blush! Another blush I bought on our travels was this Sephora Collection blush. I got the shade “Shame on You” and it’s gorgeous. It’s quite sheer to begin with, but builds really nicely and is easy to blend.
I definitely agree with the longwearing claims, I wore this to the Laver Cup; I put my makeup on around 9:30 and took it off gone midnight and the blush was stilll there looking flawless.
The only gripe I have with this product is the packaging. It is great in theory, but in reality it’s a pain in the butt. It has two ways of opening, you can open it at the top to use it as a single blush compact, or you can open the base and lift the blush pan out to de pot it.
However… the top bit does not open easily. Every time I try and open it, the base opens instead of the top, then the blush almost goes flying. I’m probably going to de pot this and put it in an empty palette as I love the product, but the packaging is annoying.
LANCOME MIRACLE AIR DE TEINT – Can’t find this anywhere, has it been discontinued?!
Oh my gosh. This product is fantastic! It’s gone straight in at Holy Grail status. I found it in TK Maxx for £15 and bought it on a whim to try. I tried it, fell in love, decided to take it on holiday with my along with Armani Luminous Silk… and I ended up loving this so much I wore it every day.
It’s got the coverage of a tinted moisturiser, with the lasting power of a foundation. It’s kind of bizarre and I was worried the shade would be wrong as it looks fine in the bottle, but brown on your face… however, once blended it magically turns out to be the perfect shade.
This is a true put it on and forget about it product. It’s great for long days and makes the skin look so healthy. I don’t know if this product has been discontinued/re formulated/changed name but I can’t find it at any main shops. You can get it on ebay, but if you find your shade in TK Maxx I would advise getting it to try. I want back ups, so I’ve been going back to TK Maxx every few days to see if they have anymore!!
MAC LIPSTICK IN PATISSERIE – £17.50 from Look Fantastic
I’ve heard so much about this lipstick, so many people love it, so I decided to finally try it. It’s really gorgeous! It’s the perfect my lips but better shade, quite pigmented for a lustre, and super smoothing. I really love MAC’s lustre formula and this has been a great addition to my collection.
KIKO SMART FUSION LIPSTICK – £3.99 from Kiko
Continuing my love affair with Kiko is this lipstick. I got shade 403 and it’s beautiful. These lipsticks are creamy, pigmented and opaque in one swipe. I can’t get over the fact they’re only £4! This colour is my favourite and I’ve worn it non stop since I got it, I took lipsticks away with me, but after I bought this, I kept wearing it.
It’s the perfect pinky nude. Not too pink, not grey, or brown etc. just a neutral pink that doesn’t pull too warm on me. It can be hard to find as a lot of lipsticks end up pulling brown on me, but not this one. I want to try more colours of this formula now!
NOCIBÉ EYESHADOW BASE – €4.97 from Nocibé
What a find this was!! I had never heard of Nocibé before, but I was searching for the IT Cosmetics blush brush while we were away and this shop came up. There was one near where were staying, so I decided to go and have a look. They didn’t have the brush, but they did have this base and it’s life changing for me!
I have the most annoying eyelids ever. I have tried every eyeshadow base going, clear, flesh tones, concealer. EVERYTHING creases on me! No matter if I set it or not. I have pretty veiny eyelids, but had given into the fact that my eyeshadow would never look amazing as I couldn’t find anything to cover my eyelids and not crease. Enter this product.
It is incredible! It’s not full coverage, but it does a really good job of covering the purple on my eyelids. It lasts all day and doesn’t budge and all the eyeshadows I put on top actually look true to colour. It neutralises the colour on your lids and is a gorgeous smooth base. I am SO buying more of these next time we go to France!
NARS CLIMAX MASCARA – £22 from Look Fantastic
The name of this is cringe worthy, but the product is fantastic. I have a hard time with mascaras as I have long eyelashes and they touch under my brows, so pretty much every mascara smudges on me. I’ve tried so many and there are ones that are better and only smudge on me once, so I just wipe it away. However, I’ve always wanted to find a mascara which doesn’t budge.
I got this Nars mascara in the checkout line in Sephora and it’s amazing! Even after 16 hours it doesn’t smudge or flake on me, I love it! I hope it’s not one of those where the travel size is different to the full size as I’ve had that before too, but so far I’m loving this mascara!
SEPHORA COLLECTION MULTI TEXTURE 06 BRUSH – €14.99 from Sephora
Where do I start with this brush!? I always thought that the Zoeva kabuki was my favourite foundation brush, but this one is better. It’s absolutely fantastic. Everything looks flawless when blended with this, it’s so easy to use.
I love it so much I went back and bought 2 more, so I now have 3 of these haha! I want to be buried with this brush, every single foundation I’ve used it with has looked flawless. I don’t know what makes this brush so magical, but it is truly amazing!
SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO BLUSH BRUSH – €27.99 from Sephora
I have another of the Sephora pro brushes and they’re great, so I knew I was going to splurge and get this blush brush before we even left for our holiday! It’s really soft and beautiful. It picks up product great, blends everything seamlessly and feels really sturdy.
I’ve had the concealer brush for a year now and it washes great too, it keeps its shape so I’m positive this blush brush will be the same. I’m super impressed with Sephora brushes in general, be they the normal collection or the pro. I would definitely recommend their brushes if you get the chance to try one!
And there we have it, all my favourites for September! What have you been loving?
