Revolution Beauty just released 12 shades of blusher reloaded and 6 of highlight reloaded. Today I’m sharing my first impressions and some swatches with you!
If you should know one thing about me, it’s that I’m completely addicted to blush. I love it. And I can’t stop buying… so if new blush launches I’m going to be all over it.
Enter the Revolution Beauty Blusher Reloaded and Highlight Reloaded. These caught my eye the other day on the Revolution website and I knew that at £3 I had to try them.
I purchased 4 blush colours and 2 highlighters to test and let you know my thoughts on, so let’s get into it!
COST
£3 for 7.5g of product – these are super affordable and if you’re anything like me, when something is affordable, you want to buy every shade. I nearly did, but then I thought what if I don’t like them? Then I’m stuck with 12 blushers I won’t use. Even at £3 each that would be a waste of money :/
PACKAGING
Peach plastic base with a clear top covered in rose gold. No mirror, this doesn’t bother me as I never use the mirrors on blushes anyway.
They feel pretty sturdy and they clasp shut firmly. Travel friendly as I don’t think you’d find these opening up in your bag.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The Reloaded Blushers are more stiffly pressed than a lot of blushes I own. You have to apply a few layers to get good colour payoff. However, I prefer my blush to be on the sheerer side so that I can build it up to what I want it to be, so this isn’t a problem.
The blushes are quite powdery when you swatch them. This isn’t much of a problem when you’re just applying with a brush, but something to be aware of. I always tap my brush off before applying anyway, so I didn’t notice any unblended powder on the cheeks.
They are smooth on the skin and blend well onto the cheeks, they’re matte and give a gorgeous healthy hint of colour. For this price point I’d say they are worth the money and you won’t be disappointed.
Beware a few of the brighter colours, when you dip a finger in, get this dark patch, is that hard pan? I don’t know, they still work fine, but Lovestruck and Ballerina both have a few dark patches.
The Reloaded Highlighters are stiffly pressed, but smooth and pigmented. No kick up and no chunks. These are really beautiful and apply easily to the skin. They’re not glittery, just have a gorgeous sheen. You can easily build these up if you want to highlight to the Gods, but equally, you can just add one layer and they look gorgeous.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
For me, these aren’t going to knock any of my favourites off of top spot. However, at this price point they are pretty darn good. The highlighters are more stand out to me and I really love them, the blushes are good; a little dusty, but you can still blend them and they look good on the cheeks.
I love the packaging, it feels pretty sturdy and it’s pretty. I love all the different colours available, nudes, peaches, corals, pinks, violets…. there’s loads to choose from and all 12 colours would only cost £36 which is pretty much the price of one Hourglass Blush.
At the end of the day, it’s down to personal choice and budget. I love high end makeup, but Revolution definitely bring good products to the table. I’m excited to try more Revolution products in the future!
