Happy Friday! After last week’s post on Products I wanted to Love, I decided to turn the tables this week and share under hyped beauty products which are worth your money!
Sometimes hype is not all good! How many times have you been caught out with something everyone said is amazing, but you try it and feel meh towards it?
Luckily this doesn’t happen too often to me, but I still wanted to share some under hyped beauty products that took me by surprise and have become staples in my makeup collection.
DISCLAIMER: ALL PRODUCTS PURCHASED BY ME, PRODUCT LINKS ARE AFFILIATE
CLINIQUE POP LIP COLOUR AND PRIMER LIPSTICKS – £17 from John Lewis
I never hear anyone talking about these lipsticks, but they’re great! They’re also reasonably priced and come in lots of colours.
I, of course, go for all the nude shades; in fact I wore Nude Pop on my wedding day. These aren’t the most long wearing lipsticks, but they’re smooth, pigmented and opaque. They’re creamy and feel super nice on the lips.
I have Beige Pop in limited edition packaging and there are quite a few other shades I have my eye on (Bare, Blush, Sugar to name a few).
DELILAH COLOUR GLOSS ULTIMATE SHINE LIP GLOSS – £22 from Feel Unique
This lip gloss is a fairly recent addition to my collection, I got it just after Christmas. I’m just thinking how we’re actually nearly half way through 2019 and suddenly scaring myself… Anyway, the Delilah lip glosses are gorgeous!
Not sticky, lovely and smooth, smell fruity, last pretty well for a gloss. Again I have never heard anyone mention them, they don’t have many colours, but well worth a go if you love lip gloss, but not the fact you end up eating your own hair because they’re so sticky.
HOURGLASS CONFESSION ULTRA SLIM REFILLABLE LIPSTICKS – £31 from John Lewis
These aren’t completely unheard of, I have heard a few people mention them, but not enough people are raving about these; they are fantastic!!! These are quite possibly my favourite lipstick formula.
The small applicator makes it so easy to get really precise application, they’re really long wearing for a “normal” lipstick and the colours are beautiful. One swipe and you have full opacity with these beauties.
I think I have 4 colours so far, but there’s loads more I want. It’s a novel way of doing lipsticks; you buy the applicator and a refill, then you can just buy the refills which are £20 and pop them in the applicator.
BAREMINERALS GEN NUDE EYESHADOW PALETTES – £29 from Escentual
Why, oh why do people not mention how great these are?! Totally under hyped, these shadows are gorgeous, pigmented, blendable, smooth, just beautiful!
I have all four palettes and the Spring limited edition one and I love them all. They’re great to chuck in your bag for travel as they have all the colours you need to create gorgeous eye looks and a mirror. You need to try these eyeshadows; BareMinerals killed it with these!
ZOEVA EYESHADOW PALETTES – £12-£18 from Beauty Bay
Zoeva make some incredibly products; I love their brushes, eyeshadow palettes and eyeliners (more on those in a minute). These eyeshadows are so underrated; they’re great for quick, everyday looks.
They’re more sheer than the BareMinerals ones, but very buildable. I have the Rose Gold palette, En Taupe, Naturally Yours, Nude Spectrum and Cocoa Blend Voyager Palette and I’m after the Melody palette next.
ZOEVA GRAPHIC EYES EYELINERS – £7 from Beauty Bay
These are without doubt the BEST eyeliners I’ve ever used, they are so soft and pigmented, but once they set they are set and don’t budge! I wore Mute on my wedding dy and it complimented my eye look perfectly.
I have quite watery eyes and struggle getting eyeliner to stay there, these stay all day, but are easily removed with Bioderma. They’re magic and they need to make more colours!! I have 4 of them, but I need more! Everyone needs to try these eyeliners!
THE BALM BLUSHES – £16-£17 from Feel Unique
There’s only one person I’ve heard talk about The Balm at any length; Emily Noel. I love Emily and really trust her reviews, so I went and purchased myself some The Balm blushes (Frat Boy and Balm Beach) and they are great!
I want to get Hot Mama next – these are gorgeous, a little goes a long way and they really do last all day!
MAKE UP FOR EVER PRO LIGHT FUSION LUMINIZER – £28 from Feel Unique
The last of my under hyped beauty products, this highlighter is just beautiful. You need a light hand, but this doesn’t show texture, lasts all day and adds the most amazing natural highlight to the skin, I wish they did more colours (I have Golden Pink) and the only other colour is called Golden and it’s too dark for me!
If they could do a peachy champagne one and a champagne one that would be great, are you listening MUFE?!
That finishes it for today, what products do you love that nobody ever seems to talk about?
