Welcome to my first ever beauty favourites! I’m so excited to share with you what I’ve been loving in March! First a little back story as to why I started to share beauty with you guys.
I’ve loved makeup and skincare for years, but I was always told you have to have your niche on your blog to be successful and you can’t have random stuff on there… well I’m not one for following rules and beauty is a huge part of my life, so why not share it with you?
Food and baking is a hobby turned business for me and my release at the end of a busy day is to watch beauty videos on Youtube. I also stalk the new in beauty of every department store every morning to find new products to add to my collection. I’m that person who sets alarms to get up in the middle of the night if new makeup is coming out…
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen more of that side of my life as I often share new products on my stories and new skincare I’m trying.
I’m currently trying out micro needling and I’ve had lots of people ask to be kept updated on how it’s going for me as they want to try it. That gave me the final push to start sharing some of the beauty/skincare stuff on my blog.
So, let’s get into my beauty favourites for March!
NARS LOST IN LUSTER PALETTE – £45 from Nars (LIMITED EDITION)
This palette is absolutely GORGEOUS! I only received it a couple of weeks ago, yet it’s gone straight in at the top and become a firm favourite. It’s got everything you need and is the perfect travel palette.
They also do this palette in a deeper colour way for those with darker skin. As someone who is incredibly pale, I love when brands do this as I often find palettes too dark for me. I really struggle to find crease/transition shades in palettes, but this palette is just perfect for my skin tone.
TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH IN PAAARTY – £25 from Tarte Cosmetics
Tarte blushes have long been favourites of mine. They are just beautiful and they do loads of colours; all the way from nude pink to bright corals.
The formula is beautiful and buildable, they are smooth, easy to use and last all day. I have quite a collection of blushes, yet this month I’ve found myself going for this pretty nude pink shade over and over again.
HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING BLUSH IN MOOD EXPOSURE – £35 from John Lewis (available at many other places too!)
Yep…. another blush! I am on a blush kick right now and have purchased about 15 since the beginning of the year. I love the Tarte formula, but the Hourglass blushes are just stunning. They are fool proof and so easy to use.
My first ever high end blush was an Hourglass blush (Luminous Flush) and I wore it to death. I now own pretty much every colour they’ve released, they are just gorgeous and I’m dying for them to bring out more shades!
BECCA HIGHLIGHTER IN YEAR OF THE PIG – £30 from Cult Beauty
I know this highlighter is limited edition, but it is stunning!! The perfect peachy gold, it gives the most gorgeous sheen to the skin and lasts all day. The Becca highlighter formula in general is amazing and I have quite a few of the shades. I just haven’t been able to get enough of the Year of the Pig one this month!
MAC LIPSTICK IN MODESTY – £17.50 from Mac
I love a pinky nude lipstick and this is my absolute perfect nude. Mac is a brand that I always fall back on, they’re super consistent and have such a huge range, you’ll always find something you love.
I have tonnes of Mac lipsticks, I have loads of lipsticks period, but Modesty has always been my favourite and I’ll buy it again and again. The formula is beautiful, smooth, creamy and it goes with every look I do.
CERAMIDIN LIQUID – £28 from YesStyle
This serum is simply fabulous. It’s hydrating, and the consistency is unlike anything else I’ve used. I’m hugely into Asian beauty and spend many hours perusing the new in on YesStyle, but this cult classic is just as good as everyone says.
It’s a milky yellow liquid that feels light and non greasy on the skin, but leaves your face feeling beautifully hydrated. You put it on before your moisturiser any time your skin needs a little extra hydration.
I’ve already been out to purchase back ups because I love it so much!
LANEIGE EYE SLEEPING MASK – £22 from YesStyle
Don’t let the fact this is called a sleeping mask put you off. This is a lovely, lightweight, yet super hydrating eye cream which has become my holy grail.
I spent years trying to find the perfect eye cream that wasn’t so heavy it clogged my pores, but wasn’t so light that my under eyes were dry. This Laneige eye cream is perfect. I haven’t had dry under eyes since I started using this.
The applicator is lovely too, it stays cold and just feels super nice to use!
HADA LABO GOKU-JYUN HYALURONIC MOISTURISING MILK – £9 from YesStyle
This moisturiser had been a life changer for me. I have very reactive skin, any fragrance, essential oils, shea butter…. you name it, it makes my skin flare up, but this is a plain moisturiser and it’s been my saviour.
It’s pretty lightweight, but very moisturising, my skin just drinks it up. I’ve had no dry, flaky skin since using this. If you want a non fancy moisturiser that soothes your skin then this is the one. It’s a huge bottle and only £9, I have back ups already! I am someone who would rather add in targeted serums than fancy moisturisers, so I put on my serums then finish everything off with this moisturiser.
HUDA BEAUTY OVERACHIEVER CONCEALER – £23 from Cult Beauty
I am some one who suffers from really dark under eyes; the purple type. Even if my skin is clear of spots, I can’t go concealer free as my eyes are so dark. I’ve had them since I was a kid, so I’m fairly sure they’re genetic.
Anyway, I have been on the hunt for the perfect concealer which is actually full coverage enough to conceal my under eyes. Oh and one that doesn’t crease would be great too.
Enter this Huda Beauty concealer. It’s AMAZING. I couldn’t believe how well it stayed in place the first time I used it. I had it on for a whole day and there were no creases, no fading, nothing. It’s magic!
You need the tiniest amount to cover your entire under eye too so the tube will last ages. Some people really love the metal applicator, but I don’t; I squeeze a small amount on my finger and tap my fingers together to warm and spread the product before gently placing under my eyes.
For me, this product is best when I place it with a finger, tap it in with a dense brush (I use the Zoeva 110 Face Shape brush) and then use a damp beauty blender sprayed with Urban Decay All nighter spray to press it in. Then it locks in place all day!
