Life Beyond the Kitchen {5}

Wow, this week has been AMAZING!!!

Possibly one of the best weeks ever. It’s been crazy busy and I’ve hardly stopped, but I’ve been so excited I haven’t been able to stop and relax!

I’ve had 3 very exciting blog opportunities this week including some big UK companies! It’s all so exciting and I have lots of recipe developing to do this weekend! I cannot wait to get started 😀

I also had my first meeting on Monday for my freelance CAD job and cracked on with the drawing on Tuesday. I hadn’t done CAD for a while, but I definitely hadn’t missed the headaches it gives me haha!

It felt so good to be earning and doing something new!

I did have a small panic the weekend before as I had no shoes to wear! My OH said “I’m sure you do” and I was like “no, I only have black glittery Toms.” He said I couldn’t wear them so I said “Why not? Glitter is always appropriate!” 😀

He won out on that one though and we had a mad dash to the shops to search for something. Everything I’d seen online was either not in my size or too high! The problems of having clown feet and being almost 6ft tall!

My feet are a size 8/9 (US10/11) depending on where I shop and they’re ridiculously wide so dainty little ballet pumps look horrendous. Normally I can’t wear anything pointed, but I found this pair and fell in love with them, they are comfy and perfect for work!

Work

Having been out of work for 3 years studying, I was worried I’d have forgotten how to do it!! Luckily, I hadn’t and I got right back to my professional self! 🙂

Whilst shopping for shoes, we somehow ended up in TK Maxx and when I laid eyes on this Le Creuset casserole dish it was love at first sight.

Le-Creuset

It was literally made for my kitchen! It’s almost exactly the same shade as my blog design! Actually it’s the same green I do for everything! My design website and all my work at Uni!

Now I need it to be Autumn so I can make lots of comforting casseroles!

I went shopping the other day to get a birthday present for my OH. We’re a little obsessed with the Talking Minion figures; he has two already, so I got him the last of the trio, Minion Tim!

Then I went to GAP to look for some tops, I didn’t find any for him, but this shirt just fell into my basket… What a shame! 😉

Cutest-shirt-ever

I also managed to tear my calf muscle this week!! HAHAHAHA clumsy me strikes again!

Ok, it’s not actually that funny. I mean, I have to laugh else I’d cry, but it’s been really painful! Luckily it’s only a minor injury, so I’ve been able to walk OK with a bandage on it for compression.

Don’t know about you, but when I injure myself I find it really hard to keep active, it’s so easy to just rest on the sofa, but as it’s usually a limb or my back I know it’s bad to just sit and rest too much, so I try and rest a little and keep active so I don’t get stiff.

It’s so hard! Especially when this week has been the busiest ever. I did manage to sit down for a while the other day and rest my leg whilst reading though, so that was good! 🙂

Relaxing

OMG, I graduate in less than a month!! I’ve been looking for some control underwear recently, I’m the shopper who sits for hours reading reviews so that I get the very best, because I just don’t have time to buy crap and then have to take it back!!

Since I’m sure there will be lots of people lingering about with cameras I want to look my best! Being a baker and taste testing things most days, I’m a little self-conscious of my tummy area, so I just want to smooth things out.

I got this pair from Sainsbury’s. They are the biggest frigging knickers I’ve ever seen! Thank God, it’s just for one day.

Control-Pants

Also… it is definitely not glamorous trying to shoe horn yourself into them. Really hope I don’t need the loo too much! I’m keeping my dress under wraps until the day, I posted a little peak a while back on Instagram, but nobody is seeing the whole thing until the day! 😀

I do need a strapless bra which is either low or clear in the middle at the front, no idea what they’re called, but do any of you have any recommendations for good multiway bras? Usually I just don’t feel like they support very well 🙁

Here’s what I’ve been making this week:
