Easter gives you the perfect excuse to treat yourself, overindulge in chocolate, and plan fun activities that the whole family can enjoy. Whether it’s a bit of baking, sitting down for a nice meal, going for a local walk, or hunting for easter eggs, there are many ways you can make the most of this bank holiday weekend.
Let’s have a look at some of the great Easter activities you and the family can enjoy this year:
Delicious Easter Treats
Easter is the perfect time of the year to get creative in the kitchen. Baking Easter-themed treats is fun for both adults and children. From Easter egg-shaped biscuits and bunny cookie cutter to cakes covered in mini-eggs and homemade chocolate nests, your imagination can run wild. You could even host a mini family bake-off and see what recipes people come up with, and have a special Easter egg as a prize.
Easter Picnic
There is nothing better than spending some quality family time in the outdoors. Although we haven’t been able to enjoy things like this in the same way for a while because of COVID-19, it is now something that we can do and plan. Picnics are a brilliant way to escape into the outdoors and appreciate nature. Make yourself a giant family-sized hamper and create an Easter-themed alfresco dining menu for all the family, including plates, cups, and cutlery so you can enjoy some Easter food and beverages in comfort outside.
A Good Olde Easter Egg Hunt
It wouldn’t be Easter without a chocolate Easter egg or two, or three. You can build a really fun Easter activity hiding some Easter treats for the kids to find. Easter egg hunts provide hours of family entertainment whilst also creating lasting memories. Grab some baskets, bunting, small Easter treats, and get hunting.
Easter Exercise
Now, you don’t need to feel guilty about having one day where you treat yourself with goodies and do exercise for these reasons. However, it is good and healthy to promote easy and gentle exercise during holidays where you may be eating more goodies than normal. Easter is about spending time with the family, which gives you the perfect opportunity to get outdoors. Long walks and bike rides are a wonderful way to explore the outside world and see what it has to offer you. They are both also great ways to get the little ones off the sofa for a few hours after eating a few too many goodies.
Easter Adventures
Your older children may want to do something that is a little more active, and although this Easter some attractions won’t be open yet, it is still something that you can sit and plan together for the future. Easter is one of the most popular times to visit Zoos, theme parks, sea life centers, museums, and safari parks. Just because you can’t physically go just yet, doesn’t mean you can’t plan it together this Easter weekend.
These are just a few of the great things you can plan for Easter this year, is there anything else that you think should be included on this list? Please share some in the comments below.
