Hi guys, I hope your week is going OK. It’s high time I shared my October 2020 Beauty Favourites!
I got to try some new bits in October, plus I shopped my own stash. I’m still loving lighter bases, tinted moisturisers etc. However, I’ve also cracked out the L’Oreal Infaillable foundation as I heard it was amazing under masks.
Talking of masks, I’m currently working on testing as many foundations as I can to compile a list of foundations that don’t transfer or transfer the least. I only have one face, so it’s taking a while, but I hope to be able to share it in a few weeks!
I also have a couple of skincare items to share in my October 2020 Beauty Favourites, one product which has been the single biggest positive change in my skin. Plus another which is newer, but I’ve been loving it.
Without further ado, let’s get into my October 2020 Beauty Favourites!

COLOURPOP PRETTY FRESH TINTED MOISTURISER – $14/£10 from Colourpop
I have wanted to try this tinted moisturiser since it came out. However, with Colourpop the international free shipping limit is $60, so I try and save up the things I want so I can get free shipping!
When the Hocus Pocus collection came out, I ordered the Pretty Fresh Tinted Moisturiser and the foundation. I’m yet to fully gather my thoughts on the foundation, but I have fallen in love with the tinted moisturiser!
It’s lightweight, easy to blend, evens out the skin beautifully and lasts really well. Some tinted moisturisers don’t last a full day, but this one does. It performs more like a foundation, but gives you all the benefits of a tinted moisturiser. It’s hydrating, glowy, makes you look like you have the most radiant skin.
It’s probably my favourite tinted moisturiser and I’ve only been using it a month! That’s how good it is, it just knocked every other tinted moisturiser I have right down the list!
This tinted moisturiser is also super affordable. It’s only about £10 and you get 43ml of product. I only use a pump for my whole face, so this will last ages! It’s great for no makeup, makeup days!
L’OREAL PARIS INFAILLABLE 24HR FRESHWEAR FOUNDATION – £10.99 from Look Fantastic
If you’re after more coverage, then my pick of the month is the L’Oreal Infaillable. I’ve had this foundation for ages and worn it quite a few times. However, as new foundations are released and I test them out, I don’t get to wear the older ones so much!
I was watching a YouTube video the other week and the person said to try this with masks as it doesn’t transfer. So, I decided to dig it back out. The best foundation I had found previously, in terms of transfer, was the Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue, but that’s a pretty pricey option. So, I tested this foundation and it is excellent under masks. No transferring and it lasted all day.
You can build this up to pretty full coverage, but I prefer a medium coverage, so just use a pump. It’s really easy to apply with a brush or sponge and lasts all day. It’s pretty lightweight and doesn’t sink into pores or cake up. I didn’t set it and it still didn’t transfer onto my mask. I would really recommend it and look out for my round up of how foundations wear under masks in a few weeks!
SUPERGOOP UNSEEN SUNSCREEN SPF 30 – £15 or £30 from Cult Beauty
I’ve heard so many people rave about this product, I just had to get it to try. I bought the mini size because I didn’t want to spend the money on a full size if I didn’t like it.
This is really odd and unlike any sunscreen I’ve tried before! It’s more like a silicone, clear primer. However, it lives up to the claim “unseen” because you really can’t see it! It doesn’t have the texture of a sunscreen. It doesn’t rub in like a sunscreen. There’s no white cast, you don’t have to really rub it in. It’s just invisible and sits there happily under makeup.
It isn’t overly hydrating, so I would moisturise well before using it. I ‘m used to using a moisturiser with SPF50 (I use a Japanese brand) so to put on a moisturiser and then a separate sunscreen is new for me! I do really enjoy this product though, it’s very lightweight and I do love that it really is undetectable on the skin.
It’s completely different to traditional sunscreens and I think that’s great. Gone are the days where you have chalky residue on your skin because you’ve tried to rub a sunscreen on! Plus, it doesn’t disrupt makeup like some do. I’ve had sunscreens where my foundation pills up, or sinks into pores, or it just looks a bit weird. You get none of that with this, it’s brilliant!
COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER – £4.19 from Boots
This has been cult product for so many over the years. But, I had never tried it!!! However we were in our local Sainsbury’s the other day and it has a really good makeup/skincare area. They also had £1 off this concealer so it was only £3.50.
I came straight home and tried it! I liked it on acne, although I have better. However, this excels under the eyes for me. It’s got great coverage and lasts all day. It doesn’t crease too much or cake up. I do have concealers that are easier to blend, but stick with this and it will look glorious. It’s really hydrating actually, I’m not sure why I thought it would be drying. It looks like skin and has a little radiance.
I was impressed by how light their fair shades went. A lot of drugstore brands lightest shade is distinctly orange and not that light. I didn’t even get the lightest concealer shade as it was too fair for me!
They also go incredibly deep. There are 20 shades and they’ve got a pretty inclusive range for a drugstore brand. I also picked up the foundation, but haven’t got round to testing it yet.
MILANI BAKED BLUSH IN PETAL PRIMAVERA – £10.95 from Beauty Bay
I’ve waxed lyrical about the Milani Baked Blushes for years, but come Autumn Petal Primavera is the shade I continually go back to. It’s a gorgeous mauve colour that’s almost matte, but has the slightest sheen. There’s no chunks of glitter or anything.
These blushes perform like high end blushes. They blend effortlessly and last all day. I just love them and this shade is so beautiful. I have about 8 of these and I always go back to them. They’re such a great price point and product.
L’OREAL PARIS HIGHLIGHTING POWDER IN ICOCONIC GLOW – £8.99 from Superdrug
This is very interesting highlighter haha! I remember when I picked it up in the shop I was walking round trying to hold it up to the light and see the highlighting aspect of it. It looked like a foundation powder!
However, when I got it home and tried it, it’s the most finely milled, least sparkly highlight I’ve ever seen. But it’s stunning on the face because of this. It gives a soft sheen and doesn’t emphasise texture. It also shifts colour a little rom pink to purple. But not in an over the top way. If you want a really bright highlight, this isn’t it. However, if you want a natural sheen then this could be it.
It’s supposed to smell like coconut, but it doesn’t to me. It has a scent, but I can’t put my finger on what that scent is. I just know it isn’t coconut!
MAC SATIN LIPSTICK IN FAUX – £17.50 from Look Fantastic
The satin formula is not a new formula, but it is new to me. I think Faux is the only satin lipstick I have from MAC. It’s actually really beautiful, it gives a soft sheen and is opaque in one swipe. It’s comfortable on the lips and lasts longer than their lustre and cremesheen. This is to be expected of course, since those are creamier formulas.
Faux is the perfect Autumn shade! It’s a medium pink with just a hint of mauve. I’ve had this in my handbag for weeks, so I can just grab it as an when I want to. I love how it looks with the Milani blush I mentioned above. It’s great for pale folks like me who want to be autumnal and wear mauves, but don’t want anything too intense.
I am not a fan of drying, matte lipsticks, but because this is a satin it wears like a matte, without the drying. I’ll definitely be trying more satin lipsticks in the future!
GOOD MOLECULES PINEAPPLE EXFOLIATING POWDER – $16/£12 from Beautylish
This is the absolute best skincare item I’ve added to my regime in recent history and it was always going to make it into my October 2020 Beauty Favourites because I’ve been raving about it non stop!! It is absolutely fantastic and well worth the price. Plus you get a tonne of product, so it will last for ages. I’ve been using this twice a week for a couple of months now and I’ve barely made a dent in it.
Until I used this product, I wasn’t sold on enzymatic exfoliating. I’ve used the Dermalogica Microfoliant and didn’t notice any difference in my skin. There’s just something about this Pineapple one that works so well.
Don’t be put off by the word exfoliator either, this is very gently. It’s not full of harsh scrubby bits. It’s a powder that you add water to, it then becomes a paste. Once you rub it into your face it then changes again into a milk! SO clever!
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I was suffering horrific acne while going through changing to the Mini pill and then back to the combined. Once I switched back to the combined pill, my skin started clearing up when it comes to the cystic and blister type spots. I still had loads of texture along my jawline and on my cheeks though. This product has helped so much I would say 99% of the texture has gone.
I have the odd bump here and there, but my skin is so much better. I can’t see me ever going without this product now!
ALDI SENSITIVE SILICONE CLEANSER – £7.99 from Aldi
Oh, how I have fallen in love with this product! There was no way it wasn’t making my October 2020 Beauty Favourites! Unless of course they were sold out everywhere and you couldn’t buy them anymore!
You can get three different types; the sensitive, which I bought and have linked above. Then there’s the Normal and the Combination ones.
Obviously this is a dupe to the Foreo silicone cleansers, but honestly? This is better than the Foreo I used. Granted I only had the tiny one which, once it ran out of battery that was it. But, this is fantastic and I don’t know why you would spend over £100 on a cleansing device, when this is cheaper and just as good.
You can charge this up, it feels solid and well made. The battery lasts for ages. I’ve used this almost every day since I got it and I haven’t had to charge it since I did it the first night.
My skin seems to love it and I notice a difference if I’ve been lazy and not used it. There are so many different levels too, I have mine on the second lowest setting as the most powerful is reallllly powerful and a bit much for my skin!
If you see these in your Aldi, pick one up! It’s so worth the money and has been a great addition to my skincare routine.
SO, there we have it! My October 2020 Beauty Favourites! What products have you been loving recently?
