Hello everyone! It’s that time again, time for my July 2020 Beauty Favourites! I feel like July went by quite slowly, anyone else? May and June flew by, but I’ve been a bit “meh” this month. It’s been a bit same old, same old.
I haven’t been wearing makeup that much and I don’t think I’ve bought any new makeup at all since May. I’ve bought a few skincare bits, but there hasn’t been much coming out and if so, I haven’t been interested in it.
Unfortunately, that means I don’t have too many products to share with you this month for my beauty favourites. Hoping exciting products start launching!! I have just ordered the new L’Oreal Skin Paradise Tinted Water Cream and some bits from Good Molecules, so I will have some new bits to try in August.
Without further ado, let’s get into my July 2020 Beauty Favourites!

GLOSSIER PRIMING MOISTURISER BALANCE – £23 from Glossier
This moisturiser is Glossier’s newest offering. It’s a lighter version of their Priming Moisturiser which is more like a gel cream. It feels so cooling when you apply it and it’s super lightweight. It’s just what my skin needs as it gets hotter and more humid.
This is formulated for combination skin types and has added niacinimide. For years niacinimide didn’t really do anything for me, but recently I have found it’s been helping my skin.
I love that this is super lightweight, while still be moisturising. It has marine extract, willow bark and bamboo extract in which help with skin texture and hydration. I’ve been super impressed with this moisturiser and have been using it at night when it’s muggy. Sometimes, if I know I’m not going out, I’ll wear it in the morning, but usually I use a moisturiser with SPF in the morning.
I used to love the original priming moisturiser and I went through quite a few tubes. I don’t really know why I stopped using it, something newer probably came out! I love testing new skincare, so I tend to switch around some of my products. I have core ones that I always use, but sometimes I switch out my moisturiser.
This has been a new find, but I’ve fallen so in love I couldn’t not mention it in my July 2020 beauty favourites!
VERSED ON THE RISE FIRMING SERUM – £18 from Cult Beauty
I have been thoroughly enjoying this serum for the past couple of months. I use it once or twice a week and it feels gorgeous on the skin. It sinks right in and has no nasty ingredients.
I’m going to be 30 next year, so although I’ve used retinol for years, I wanted to add something more targeted for firming into my regime.
This has peptides, vitamin C and resveratrol to boost collagen and firm things up. I have to be very careful with vitamin C as my skin can’t tolerate much, but inside other formulas as a small percentage, it’s usually fine. I can’t be using those 20% vitamin C powders though. The results are not good!
This is a gloopy, clear serum that absorbs fast and feels hydrating. I don’t really have any sagging or lines on my face, so I can’t tell you “wow it’s tightened up my chin” but I do feel much better having this in my regime because I knew I was lacking peptides and collagen boosting ingredients.
I have tonnes of acne clearing/brightening, retinol, hyaluronic acid and ceramides in my regime, but there was definitely a hole when it came to firming and this slots in perfectly. My moisturiser or oil goes on beautifully on top of this and I’ve had no reaction to it. I’ve been really impressed with the bits I’ve tried from Versed so far and I’m eager to try more!
KIEHLS CALENDULA AND ALOE SOOTHING HYDRATION MASQUE – £20-£44 from Kiehls
I’ve used this mask for ages and I really love it! It actually has bits of calendula flower in it and it’s so light and moisturising. It really soothes my skin and calms it down when it’s flaring up.
I have the smaller size and it’s lasted a long time, but I don’t use it religiously every week. If I did, I think it would run out within a couple of months. Since I love this mask so much, I’ll definitely be buying the full size.
I think this mask is under rated. I don’t hear people talking about it, but it’s so great for those of us with angry, reactive, sensitive skin. It stays moist on the skin and doesn’t dry like a clay mask would. I then just use a double sided muslin (the soft side) to wipe it off. I always notice a difference in my skin when I use this mask and I’d highly recommend it!
DIOR BACKSTAGE FACE AND BODY FOUNDATION – £29.50 from Selfridges
I’ve had this foundation for months and months and until this month I wasn’t really impressed with it. Everyone was raving about how well it lasted and how amazing it was, but every time I would wear it, it would last maybe 5 hours before breaking up on me.
I wanted to love it as it does look absolutely stunning on the skin, but it just wasn’t working with my skin. Until I used the Urban Decay All Nighter Primer underneath. Game changer!
With the All Nighter Primer it lasts all day without breaking up on me and looks gorgeous all day. It really is a beautiful formula. Super lightweight and buildable. It has a lovely natural glow to it and for the price you get a lot of product. That small bottle has 50ml in! Most foundations are 30ml and, especially being Dior, I think £29.50 is really reasonable!
I have the Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation which is £37 for 30ml, so the Face and Body is better value. You guys know how much I love the Skin Glow. It’s one of my Holy Grail foundations and the fact I fell in love with another Dior foundation so hard, made me want to try Face and Body again!
So glad I did as I now love it and it’s well and truly earned its spot on my July 2020 Beauty Favourites!
CLINIQUE HAPPY CHEEKS POP BLUSHER IN MELON POP – £18 from John Lewis
Oh how I love this blush. It comes out every Summer and I wear it to death! It’s the perfect peach with a hint of pink and I mean how pretty is the actual blush?!
I have a couple of shades in this formula now and I do love it. You do have to build it quite a bit I find, but that means it’s ultra flexible and you can either sheer it out or go for a bolder look.
I like pigmented blushes, but I also don’t want to just dump a blob of colour in one spot, so I think there’s a fine line between pigmented and buildable and just straight out pigment. These sit on the lighter end, but are still pigmented enough. I love the shades they do, they really live up to the “pop” name!
This formula gives a very soft sheen to the skin, there’s no glitter. They are a lit from within type of formula. Very natural and pretty on the cheeks. Perfect for natural make up days!
MILANI BAKED BLUSH IN LUMINOSO – £10.95 from Beauty Bay
This is a cult favourite product for so many and I’m on the hype train too! I usually can’t wear orangey tones blushes, but this one I can pull off! It’s not my most worn of their baked blushes (I think that’s probably Dolce Pink) but I have been loving it in July!
I’ve raved about the Milani Baked Blushes for ages now, they perform just like high end blushes. I adore them. A few do have some larger chunks of glitter which I don’t love, but the shades that are just glowy. STUNNING. They last all day, are so easy to blend and work with and they do loads of colours.
If you’ve been wanting an Hourglass blush, but don’t want to drop almost £40 on a blush, try one of the Milani ones as they’re comparable.
KIKO GLOW FUSION POWDER HIGHLIGHTER IN BRILLIANT CHAMPAGNE – £9.99 from Kiko
When is there not a Kiko product in my beauty favourites?! HA! I just love the brand so much!
These highlighters are beautiful. This is the perfect shade for us pale folk. When it arrived I was a little worried as it looked quite white. However, when it’s on the skin, it doesn’t look icy at all. It’s got just enough of the champagne colour to make it super flattering on the skin.
There’s no glitter in this formula and it almost feel like a cream when you touch it, but then it’s a powder on the skin. This is gorgeously glowy and you can get a sheer glow or a glowing to the gods look with this highlighter.
There are three shades and I’m very much considering getting the Heavenly Gold shade too, but I need to see it in store to see if it will be OK on my skin. I definitely can’t wear the third shade as it’s bronzey, but that will be perfect for my darker skinned gals.
MAC X NICOLA CHAPMAN LIPSTICK – £17.50 from MAC (COMES OUT IN OCTOBER)
I really didn’t want to mention this lipstick because it doesn’t come out until October, but I couldn’t not. I’ve been wearing it all month. It’s gorgeous! There was a pre sale at the beginning of July and I ordered it as soon as I saw you could!
It’s the perfect peachy nude, suit anyone colour. It’s a cremesheen formula which is one of my all time favourite formulas and the packaging is gorgeous!
This shade goes with everything, it’s so perfect for every day wear. It’s become a firm favourite quickly and I might have to buy a back up when it properly releases in October!
SO, there we have it, my July 2020 Beauty Favourites! In case you didn’t see my post on Tuesday, this is going to be my last post for a few weeks. I just need to take some time off to recharge my batteries, but I’ll be back soon with new content! Hopefully some new reviews as brands start to ramp up the releases!
