Well, another Month has passed us by and it’s time to share my April 2020 Beauty Favourites!
I have a bit of a mix of favourites this month, I tried out a few new things and found some old favourites. There’s also a couple of skincare favourites. I’ve been struggling with my skin for months, since I changed contraceptive pill. I am on antibiotics for it, but I’m trying to find skincare that doesn’t aggravate it and that can help calm it down.
I would ordinarily be going back and forth with my Doctor, but with what’s going on, appts aren’t just popping in and out. They’re doing phone appts, but I don’t think skin is a priority when there’s so much else happening. I’m fine with waiting it out and just trying to do my best with skincare. I have other chronic conditions where I need my Doctor, but again, I’m doing my best to manage what I can at home and I’ll only be going to my Doctor if I really can’t manage myself anymore.
Anyway, let’s get into my April 2020 Beauty Favourites!

MAC GLOW PLAY BLUSHES – £23.50 FROM MAC COSMETICS
In April, we FINALLY got the Glow Play blushes in the UK! They were released in the US weeks and weeks ago and I was getting so annoyed with having to wait! When I first saw these announced, I knew I was buying them as they looked so fun and I loved the idea of this bouncy, creamy formula. When you press into them they feel like a sponge, it’s quite weird, but they are gorgeous.
I got the shades Blush, Please and Cheeky Devil and I am eyeing up Cheer Up too. I have to admit, when they first arrived and I swatched them I was a bit concerned that Cheeky Devil wouldn’t show up on me. And I’m lily white. However, it’s just an incredibly sheer colour that needs a lot of building up.
The thing is, I knew they were meant to be sheer and buildable, but the Blush, Please shade was quite pigmented and I didn’t need to build it up that much, however, it takes around 8 layers to be able to see Cheeky Devil on my cheeks. I prefer my products to be buildable as I don’t want clown cheeks, but I do wish it had slightly more pigment. The colour is just stunning, so it’s worth the fact I have to build it up.
They are really easy to blend and able to be applied with fingers or a brush. I’m glad these turned out to be gorgeous. It’s opened my eyes to cream products! I was always scared of cream blushes as I was afraid I’d end up with doll cheeks, but this formula is super pretty and easy to work with!
NARS ICONIC LIPSTICK IN CHELSEA GIRLS – £22 FROM LOOKFANTASTIC
Chelsea Girls is a classic Nars shade, but even though I had this lipstick on my wishlist for ages, I didn’t buy it until recently. It was one of those things that’s always on my wishlist, but new things come out, so it gets bumped down the list. However, I finally bought this lipstick and I’m so glad I did.
It’s gorgeous and perfect for Spring/Summer! It’s a peachy pink and the formula is gorgeous. It’s creamy and pigmented and goes on super easy. My lips look hydrated and healthy when I apply this. It’s not a longwearing lipstick, but it doesn’t claim to be. It’s one of those that you can apply on the go as it’s just so effortless.
MAC CREMESHEEN LIPSTICK IN NIPPON – £17.50 FROM JOHN LEWIS
I loved this shade last Spring, and I’m still obsessed with it this Spring. It’s a fun, corally shade in one of my favourite lipstick formulas ever. It’s not bright, but it’s brighter than my normal pinky nude. However, it’s a super wearable coral shade. It gives you that hint of colour, while not going far out of my comfort zone.
I’ve spent the past month flitting between this and Chelsea Girls. I can’t stop wearing them both! If you are on the hunt for the perfect Spring lipstick, then either of the two I’ve mentioned are my picks. Gorgeous, easy to wear and an easy, creamy formula!
GIORGIO ARMANI NEO NUDE GLOW FOUNDATION – £32 FROM JOHN LEWIS
I have been loving this foundation so much. I did a full review of it last week and I’m still loving it.
It’s stunning on the skin, lightweight, buildable and hydrating. I have a lot of drying acne ad certain foundations cling to dry patches. This one doesn’t and it also feel like my skin can breathe when I’m wearing it. It’s the perfect Summer foundation and I keep going back to it. I have about 40 foundations, yet I can’t stop wearing this one!
It wears well with whatever primer I try and it doesn’t cake up during the day. I do have foundations that last longer, but this will do a good 12 hours.
TOO FACED BORN THIS WAY THE NATURAL NUDES PALETTE – £31.50 FROM LOOKFANTASTIC
I went back and forth with getting this palette. Kept adding it to my basket and taking it out. I watched reviews, I looked at swatches. Eventually I decided to order it and now I’m so glad I did. It’s beautiful!
It’s all the colours I’m into right now, taupes, dusty pinks. The mattes are stunning, so smooth, blendable and easy to work with. The metallics are gorgeous, but a few of them take a bit more work. You can get them looking really nice, but they have some bigger chunks. I spray my brush with MAC Fix+ and then they work much better. Just be aware that they take a bit more work.
However, every look I’ve created with this palette has been gorgeous. I’m not an expert at eyeshadow, so my looks are very simple, but I find this palette really easy to use and it has everything I need to create a look.
CERAVE FACIAL MOISTURISER SPF25 – £13 FROM LOOKFANTASTIC
After hearing so much about CeraVe I decided to order a few products to try. I have the Hydrating Cleanser and the SA Smoothing Cleanser too and have ordered the non SPF version of this cream because I’ve been loving it so much.
A lot of SPFs break me out, so when I find one that doesn’t and that doesn’t make my skin greasy or ghostly white, I’m going to sing about it! This is really lightweight, doesn’t aggravate my skin and makes my skin feel really smooth.
I am also loving the SA Smoothing Cleanser, I use it in the morning and again it is very gentle on my skin. I have very sensitive skin, so a lot of the ingredients that are meant to be good for acne are too harsh for my skin. This uses salicylic acid, but is gentle enough to not make my skin worse.
VERSED BABY CHEEKS ALL IN ONE HYDRATING MILK – £16.50 FROM CULTBEAUTY
Versed is a newer brand to the UK, but I’ve had my eye on a few of their products. So many toners sting my face, even ones without alcohol, but I read the ingredients of this one and it seemed like it wouldn’t burn/sting and I loved the fact it was hydrating. I have toners I love that don’t sting my face, but right now I need more hydrating products, so I thought this would be perfect.
I LOVE this toner! It doesn’t sting, burn etc, it doesn’t break me out. It’s so lightweight on the skin, but my skin never feels tight or dry. I’ve been using this every single day and it’s perfect for warmer weather where you still need hydration.
I’m going for light, hydrating layers in my skin care because I don’t want to be clogging my pores anymore than they already are, but I still need hydration. This toner has slotted perfectly into my regime and I’ll definitely be buying it again!
It doesn’t have any fragrance or alcohol and has coconut water in. There’s also has bamboo extract and algae extract in it. I would definitely recommend this product if you have angry, sensitive skin as it’s very calming. I’m excited to try more from Versed!
There we have it, all of my April 2020 Beauty Favourites. I’ve been enjoying all of these products so much and would recommend all of them! What products have you been loving?
