Hi everyone, how are you doing? I hope you’re keeping well in what are difficult circumstances right now. I am a blush addict, so have been dedicated to trying as many as I can!
Now, I’ve always been a high end makeup girl, but this year I set myself the challenge of trying more drugstore makeup. Let me tell you, on the whole I’ve been impressed! Today I’m bringing you the 5 best drugstore blushes I’ve found. These are the five that perform the best and last the longest. The best bit? They’re all under £10.

WET ‘N’ WILD COLOR ICON BLUSH IN PEARLESCENT PINK – £3.49 from Amazon
This blush was one of the first I tried at the very start of the year. I have to say, I was impressed right away. This blush is smooth, pigmented and blendable. You can over do it as it’s soft and pigmented, but as long as you have a light hand, this blush is stunning.
I hear they’ve recently reformulated the Color Icon blushes, but we haven’t got them in the UK yet, so I can’t say whether they’re better or worse than the original. This colour though? Gorgeous. It’s a peachy pink with gold flecks of gliter. When I saw the glitter I was like “oh no” but it isn’t too bad, they’re not huge chunks of glitter that make every pore visible.
For the price, these are fantastic. Yes the packaging is plain and simple, but the product is well worth the money.
UPDATE: The day after I published this post, the new Color Icon blushes hit Beauty Bay! Ordering some to compare the formula!
ELF PRIMER INFUSED BLUSH – £6-£7.50 from ELF Cosmetics
These blushes are beautiful. They do both a matte and shimmer version and I’ve heard these are meant to be dupes for the Buxom primer infused blushes. I haven’t tried those yet (they’re on my wishlist!) but I can tell you that these blushes from ELF are lovely.
Overall, I’ve found ELF to be a bit hit and miss, but these blushes definitely belong on my best drugstore blushes list! They’re are super smooth and blendable.
I have the shades Always Rosy and Always Preppy and Always Rosy is my favourite colour wise. I love rosy tones on my cheeks. Beware of the colours on the website as Always Preppy looks very different to how it looks online.
ESSENCE THE BLUSH – £2.50 from Wilko
I have wanted to try Essence for ages as I’ve always heard such good things. I found out a few weeks ago that Wilko are the only official stockists of Essence in the UK, so last time we were in town I went and picked up two blushes.
Our Wilko did look a little worse for wear and was quite messy. There were a lot of gaps in stock too, but you can order online. These blushes are fantastic! They perform like a high end blush! I like the packaging as it’s sleek and simple too.
These blushes easily last a full day and are so easy to use. The formula is buildable, so it’s hard to over do it.
L’OREAL TRUE MATCH LE BLUSH – £7.99 from Superdrug
I’ve been super impressed with these little blushes. They are scented which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I quite like it. It’s sort of a sweet, fruity scent. You can’t smell it on the cheeks, just in the pan.
Colour 120 (Sandalwood Pink) is my favourite in this blush, its a shimmery, rosy pink and it’s beautiful on the cheeks. L’Oreal is a brand I’m actually impressed by, I have a couple of foundations and concealers too which I’ve been loving.
I’ve just ordered the Pro Glow foundation as we can finally get it in the UK and I’m excited for it to arrive!
HEMA SATIN BLUSH POWDER – £5.50 from HEMA
This blush is the wildcard! Not a well known brand, but you can actually buy it in the UK. I purchased mine in France when we were on holiday and I have to say, this blush has become a firm favourite. I love the colour and the finish is gorgeous. This is a true satin. It doesn’t have any flecks of glitter and just brings your cheeks to life.
I have to order some more colours in this formula as I love it. It’s not a flat matte, but it’s not sparkly either, it’s a true satin and I love it.
SWATCHES
To finish off, here are swatches of all of the blushes I’ve mentioned in this post. As you can see I like pink and peachy pink blush a lot!!
That’s all I have for you today, what are some drugstore blushes you like?
