May Beauty Favourites

6.6.19 By Annie N

Welcome to my May Beauty Favourites. New releases have been a little scarce this month, so I’ve been dipping my toe into K-beauty & pulling out some oldies!

May Beauty Favourites | Annie's Noms

Hiya guys, it’s that time again, time for my May Beauty Favourites! How is it June already?!

This month the new releases have been pretty thin on the ground, or they’ve been rainbow inspired which I understand is fun, but it’s not really me.

Since we appear to be in a bit of a beauty lull, I’ve been turning my eye to K-beauty a bit more. I have to tell you I’ve been pleasantly surprised and have found some fantastic products!

I also have some new favourite sunglasses this month, I know this is beauty favourites… but there’s just one exception!. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m obsessed with designer sunglasses. I collect them and over the past year or so it’s become a real obsession. I’ve amassed about 30 pairs so far and have a list as long as my arm of styles I want.

GUCCI GG0081SK – £209 from SmartBuyGlasses*

How gorgeous are these? They’re in my signature black and oversized and I just love them. I have a couple of other pairs of Gucci sunglasses and they have a gold GG logo on them, I love that this pair has a silver logo. These are simple, but elegant and classic and I’ve been wearing them so much recently.

SmartBuyGlasses contacted me recently wanting to work together and since I love sunglasses so much, I was super excited about this collaboration!

I’ve seen sunglasses and optical glasses come up from SmartBuyGlasses when I’ve been searching for a pair and they have really competitive prices. They stock so many of my favourite brands including Prada, Tom Ford, Celine and Gucci and I love looking through all the different frames they have. With all their different brands and frames, you are bound to find a pair you love!

I’m very happy with my experience with SmartBuyGlasses and I’ll definitely be shopping there in the future. Shipping was fast and my sunglasses were delivered in within 4 days. They also have a 100 day return policy and come with a 2 year warranty which is great!

*SmartBuyGlasses gifted me a pair of sunglasses, opinions are my own.

CLINIQUE CHEEK POP BLUSHER IN MELON POP – £17 from John Lewis

I’ve wanted to try one of the Cheek Pop Blushers for a long time, but some of the colours are quite bright looking and I was scared they wouldn’t suit my very fair skin.

I caved recently and ordered the shade melon pop from John Lewis when they had 15% off and I’m so glad I finally purchased one of these as it’s gorgeous!

It’s the perfect summery pinky peach shade, it gives a gorgeous glow to the skin and it’s very buildable, so if you sometimes have a heavy hand like me, you won’t suddenly end up with doll cheeks 😉

MAC LIPSTICK IN NIPPON – £17.50 from John Lewis

Oh my goodness, how have I only just found this lipstick?! INSTANT FAVOURITE! It is the most perfect peach (have you noticed I’m obsessed with peachy pinks right now LOL!?) it’s a creamy lipstick, goes on really easily, not the most long wearing, but I love the colour so much I don’t care.

No matter how many brands of lipstick I try, I always come back to MAC. I just love their range and their cremesheen formula. Their lustre formula is gorgeous too.

I’ve worn this non stop since I bought it and I can see myself using it all Summer!

Holika Holika Piece Matching Shadow Palette in Flower Cake

HOLIKA HOLIKA PIECE MATCHING SHADOW PALETTE – £9.39 from YesStyle

I have two out of the three colour ways of these (the other one is on its way to me!) and they are just beautiful!

These are the first Korean eye shadows I tried and I’m SO impressed! Currently I have Flower Cake and Grapefruit Tart and I’ve ordered Red Velvet because I’ve been so obsessed with the other two.

Holika Holika Piece Matching Shadow Palette in Grapefruit Tart

These shadows are smooth, pigmented and super blendable. The satin mattes are sublime! I can’t even describe how beautiful they are and the swatches don’t do them justice. If I was only allowed to keep one thing from my May Beauty Favourites then it would be these palettes, I’m that impressed!

MARC JACOBS HIGHLINER GEL EYE CRAYON IN RO(COCOA) – £20 from Harvey Nichols

I’ve had this eye liner a while, but I always seem to forget about it. It’s gorgeous, one of those super creamy gels that sets an then doesn’t budge.

The shade I have is a rich chocolate brown with a slight sheen. It’s really gorgeous with green eyes and I find it softer than black.

I need to get more colours of these because they’re brilliant. They’re quite expensive, but Marc Jacobs is a luxe brand and you do get what you pay for. Everything I’ve tried from them has been amazing – their lipsticks are fabulous!

VDL PERFECTING LAST FOUNDATION SPF30 – £19.64 from YesStyle

I have really fallen in love with this foundation! It’s beautiful and lasts a good 10 hours on me before I notice it sink into my pores slightly.

It gives the skin this beautiful slightly luminous, healthy glow. It’s very skin like and you can’t see it on the skin until the 10 hour mark when it does start to break down a little, it blends beautifully and is a good medium coverage. If you have angry spots, you’ll need concealer, but general redness it covers. I also love that my freckles still peek through a little bit while my skin looks healthy and smooth.

If I have a super long day, I’ll still wear my Armani Power Fabric and I do still think it’s my Holy Grail, but that’s probably because I’ve used it for years!

What products have you been loving in May?
