Happy Friday and welcome to this months beauty favourites! April seemed to whizz by and I can’t quite believe it’s May already. This month I have a pretty small selection of products and some older products that I’ve just not been able to put down this month, so let’s get into it!
Too Faced Natural Matte Palette – this is the older one (sometimes it pops up on TK Maxx), the new one is £34 from Cult Beauty
I know there are a million neutral palettes out there, but this one has been a firm favourite this month. I keep going back to it and I’ve been super into all matte looks. When I sit with my collection and pick out my makeup for the next day, I look through my eyeshadow palettes and keep picking this palette up.
I love all the colours, I love how it’s laid out, all the shadows are beautiful, smooth, pigmented and so easy to blend. They basically blend themselves, eye looks are a cinch with this palette.
Too Faced Natural Nude Lipstick in “Strip Search” – £18 from Selfridge’s
This lipstick is just gorgeous… and it smells like coconut! The formula is amazing an the colour is so pretty. It’s that perfect peachy nude that I can actually wear – a lot of the time peach lipstick pull too orange on me, but this one is perfect and I’ve been using it loads this month.
MAC Lustre Lipstick in “Let’s Mesa Around” – I can’t find this anywhere! 🙁
This lipstick is so beautiful; from the packaging to the actual shade, I’m not surprised it’s sold out everywhere! It’s one of those lipsticks you can just throw on without looking in the mirror too much as it’s a lustre. It adds a lovely sheen to your lips and a hint of pink.
Too Faced Born this way Super Coverage Multi-use Sculpting Concealer – £24 from Selfridge’s
I never thought I could love a concealer more than the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, but this one could be about to topple it! Extra bonus being that you get 15ml in this concealer and only 7ml in the Nars.
This is great at covering breakouts, I don’t use it under my eyes, but for breakouts it’s great. You need such a tiny amount to cover and it doesn’t oxidise or look cakey. Sometimes when I want to wear a little makeup, but not a full face, I just dot this round my nose and on my chin and it lasts all day looking perfect!
MAC Mineralize Blushes – £23 from John Lewis
I have three shades of this blush; Ray Beam, New Romance and Sweet Enough. They are stunning! I love the formula and it’s buildable so great for those of us who can be a bit heavy handed.
They blend beautifully and last for at least 8 hours on me. I want every colour as I love this formula so much!
Rodial The Sculpting Brush – £40 from Space NK
This brush… OMG I love it! (Note, I paid £6.99 at TK Maxx!) I used to use a fluffy brush for blush, but I just found it ended up blending to nothing or taking over my whole face.
I know this brush says it’s a sculpting brush, but it’s become my favourite blush brush. It’s the perfect size for my face and applies any blush perfectly. You can still blend and diffuse it with this blush, but I prefer where my blush applies with this brush. I keep going back to TK Maxx in the hope of finding another one because I need more than one!
Sephora Collection no.57 Airbrush Concealer Brush – €19.99 from Sephora France (we can no longer access Sephora US in Europe, so I’ve linked to the French site)
This is without doubt the best brush purchase I’ve ever made for concealer! It blends every concealer I have effortlessly and it’s a good size too, meaning you can blend larger areas super quickly. When we next go to France, I’m definitely buying another couple of these brushes as they’re awesome!
Dr Jart+ Firming Sleeping Mask – £17 from YesStyle
I’m pretty new to sleeping masks, I always had this vision of me sticking to my pillow at night as I had a thick mask on. This is nothing like that though, it’s a white cream which sinks in pretty quickly and I love how my skin feels in the morning. It feels plump, moisturised and looks smooth.
As this dries down, it gets a little tacky and feels like those peeling masks we all used as teenagers. After a few minutes that goes away; I didn’t stick to anything or feel like I was wiping it off by leaning on my pillow.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Vanilla – £10 from YesStyle
I’ve got three flavours of this lip sleeping mask and the vanilla is by far my favourite! Although that’s not really surprising as I’m obsessed with vanilla anything!
Originally I got the berry one, which smells delicious and I do love it and have one on the go.
For Christmas my husband bought me the Mint Chocolate one and that smells divine – I haven’t used this one yet.
I have the Vanilla one in my car and I use it all the time, I am a huge fan of the lip sleeping mask, they feel gorgeous on the lips and make your lips look healthy. I usually wear it overnight, but I find you can wear it in the day too, it looks like you have clear gloss on.
So there we have it, my April Beauty Favourites. What have you been loving this month?
