Hi guys! Ever fancied drinking birthday cake?

I have funnily enough, so I decided to create this Birthday Cake Milkshake for you guys! It’s thick, creamy and filled with sprinkles and cake mix.

Yes, you heard that right, I used cake mix. For the first time ever in my blog’s history!

Although… I did use homemade cake mix. I promised never to use cake mix in baking on my blog as I focus on from scratch recipes, but I thought I’d be forgiven for using it in this instance because this milkshake is so darn tasty and it totally needs that cake mix. (BTW, I’m not saying cake mix is bad, I’m just saying my blog focuses on from scratch recipes :)).

I tried without and doing it a whole other way and it just did not taste right! Now though? It tastes just like cake, only in milkshake form. It is out of this world delicious!

Years ago, I used to go to Shake Away. It’s a shop where you can get basically anything you could imagine made into a milkshake; skittles, oreos, minstrels, maltesers, creme eggs… you name it, they’ve probably got it. They’re obviously not the healthiest, but sometimes you just need to indulge and it was worth every calorie.

I always, always got a Muffin Milkshake… I’m not sure why as I loved the look of many other milkshakes, but I always craved that chocolatey milkshake with chunks of muffin in.

So, my love affair for cake based milkshakes started long ago and I really don’t know why it took me so long to make my own cake milkshake. I’ve made a Biscoff Brownie Milkshake before, but never one with cake.

Anyway, if you or someone you love has a birthday coming up, then this will be the perfect way to celebrate! AND they’re ready in 5 minutes! You just need vanilla ice cream, cake mix, milk, vanilla extract and sprinkles. Pour it into a glass and sip away.

For those people who don’t want to bother with a whole cake… my fiancé is one of them because he “doesn’t really like cake” (all the eye rolls) this milkshake is the perfect compromise. I mean, hey, if people don’t want birthday cake, why can’t you still enjoy it? And in drink form? I would… and probably will come Mr AN’s birthday later in the year!
