The Pretty Pintastic Party #95

4.3.16 By Annie N

Hello from my sick bed…

Happy Friday and welcome to The Pretty Pintastic Party! This week I have been hit with one seriously nasty ear infection. I’m talking OMG I can’t move my head or stand up, the left side of my face is beyond swollen and my head feels like it’s going to explode bad.

The strange thing is I haven’t had a cold or been swimming and I’m always really careful to make sure I dry my ears after a shower. It just hit last weekend and come Monday morning I was in absolute agony. Screaming in pain and unable to do anything. It has completely wiped me out.

We headed straight to the doctors on Monday and he said there was a huge lump in my ear and gave me a really strong dose of antibiotics. Then he said “It will probably get worse before it gets better… Oh and it might burst and leak fluid everywhere..” (TMI, I’m sorry!) I was like “ARE YOU SERIOUS?” It actually took 3 whole days worth of antibiotics for it to even feel as if it had reached my ear. It sounds strange, but it was so far in, it was my cheek/neck/back of my head that hurt too and they were the first to be hit by the antibiotics. Now, it’s still very painful and still leaking (gross) BUT it actually feels like it’s in my ear now. Sooo, I guess that’s good?

I haven’t been able to sleep laying down for a week as it makes the fluid move and that is agony, but I’ve been getting steadily getting lower down the pillow the last few nights and I’m almost laying down now..! I’m still pretty deaf in my left ear, but I don’t feel like I’m dying anymore, so hopefully I’ll be feeling better soon because I can not cope with much more of this. I haven’t cried and screamed in pain for years and I have chronic back pain and arthritis in my spine, so I like to think I have a fairly high tolerance to pain.

Anyway, have fun partying this weekend and I’ll talk to you soon!
