Life Beyond the Kitchen {6}

Apologies for my lack of post last week, I was sitting on the M25 in solid traffic…

Oh, how I hate that motorway 90% of the time.

It’s been a busy few weeks; all really good stuff and so exciting, but I’m getting to the point where I don’t know if I’m coming or going, I am just sooooo busy all of the time!!

However, I’m a grafter, so I just work my a** off every day, always have done, always will ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m a true believer that if you work hard, you’ll get to where you want to be!

Change of subject entirely… I graduate in less than 2 weeks! How did that come around so quick?!?! I’m excited to have a catch up with my friends, but other than that I just want it over, I detest standing up in front of people, even though I don’t have to do anything, but walk and then shake a guy’s hand, it’s the fact all those people will be watching :O ๐Ÿ™ – I’ll be the bright red, blotchy, anxiously-biting-my-nails one in the queue of people!

I am so glad it will be the last time I EVER have to deal with that place, I’ve blocked most of the crap out now, if I stop and really think I still get cross at how bad it was, but mostly I try and forget and focus on this blog and working hard every day to reach my goals.

Here’s what I’ve been up to recently…

I did allow myself to have last Friday off (I mean my version of a day off is still rushing round like a blue arsed fly, but anyway) after finally getting to my destination – it took 4 hours, but once I got there it was great, I saw my grandparents, parents and best friend.

It still feels weird to be “all grown up” with my friend and I both having our own homes, jobs and busy lives. It’s weird to have to properly schedule in time to meet up. I do miss the freedom of being a teen sometimes, although not the bitchy college environment and constant mood swings. However, you know you’ve got a great friend if you can go months without seeing each other and pick up right where you left off!

It also gave us change to swap (very belated) birthday gifts! I got the coolest spoon in the world, I think, you’ll agree…!

It was such a great day. It made me appreciate what I have and sometimes this grown up crap is not so bad. Being mature, relaxed and content is so much better than the highly charged teenage years! I get on so much better with my parents now, I look forward to spending time with them, when I lived at home there were so many arguments, now I can just have a good laugh. Also, just sitting, hanging out and having a proper chat with my grandparents was amazing too!

The weekend was pretty chilled, apart from giving the dog a bath. She hates water so much. We have to completely cover the bathroom in towels beforehand as she has a tendency to jump out of the bath, knock the shower head out of my hand and then shake!

Every time she has a bath, without fail, she’ll come straight downstairs afterwards and do this weird head and side thing where she sort of dives at the rug and wipes her face… then she tries to pick up her bed and throw it – it’s hilarious!!!

She sulks with us afterwards and gives us the “cute eyes”

I also took delivery of 8 more cans of pumpkin. Is it too early to crack it open?

Speaking of the kitchen, I had a fight with a bread knife and lost…

My boyfriend ordered personalised coke bottles for me as I can never find my name in the shop. He also got in a joker – the nickname I’ve had since we met..

Share-a-Coke

Yes, I do realise the real meaning on “wench” – but we both know it’s a joke!

Speaking of humour. If you know me in person, you’ll know I’m quick-witted and love making people laugh. I have a very sarcastic sense of humour and this just sums me up…
