It’s my 100th blog post today!!! I can’t believe, it feels like only yesterday I started this blog with just a small idea to blog some of my favourite recipes, now I’ve had 10,000 page views and my 100th post in a week or so! It’s amazing and I really hope you enjoy the next 100 posts! 😀
Onto today’s post 🙂
I’ve decided to give eBay one last chance as a seller.
I used to have no problems at all then I sold a t-shirt which I described correctly as some collaboration between a designer and ASOS. I have no idea on designers, but I know you don’t pay £5.50 for them. This woman bought the top, didn’t hear a thing until the last day she could open a case against me then she told me it was a fake and she wanted a refund.
Errrr… 1) You should have messaged me if you were unhappy not just waited about 3 months. 2) I never said it was designer, I think I only paid about £10 for it, so I didn’t try and sell it as something it wasn’t.
Realllllllly got on my nerves how she could be like that, I’m an honest person all the time. I’m not someone who says things that people want to here, if I think you’re crap and don’t like something you’ve done I’ll say so I won’t flatter you with compliments I don’t mean.
Likewise, if something isn’t designer, I won’t say it is. The silly b**** should learn to read properly.
Anyway, I then had an item which was pick up only so the person who won the item said they’d be here on a particular day and I waited in all day for them, didn’t bother turning up, didn’t bother replying to my messages, just paid for the item and disappeared. What the?!
The final thing was someone paid for the item, I sent it, then they didn’t pick it up from the Parcel depot after they weren’t in so it got returned to me. Messaged them, no reply.
What is it with people?! Am I the only one who does as I’ll say I do?
I’ve got a load of clothes which are now too big for me from last year so decided to list them all. They end tonight, so we’ll see. If I have any problems I’m swearing off eBay for life as a seller, just not worth the stress, I have enough to do without spending ages carefully packaging things up and taking them to the post office.
Rant over, now onto some good homemade Gnocchi. I have always been a Gnocchi lover, my boyfriend not so much. He doesn’t like shop bought, so I decided to make my own. Now he’s decided he likes it and I’ll be making it again. It’s a lot simpler than I thought it would be and whilst mine might not have looked as perfect as shop bought, they certainly tasted better 🙂
Serves 2
Recipe from a site which no longer exists!
Ingredients:
> 1.5lbs potatoes (ish, doesn’t have to be exact)
> 2 egg yolks
> about 2 cups of flour (you’ll probably need less)
Method:
> Bake your potatoes in a 200 degree C oven for about an hour until soft and tender.
> Leave to cool for a few minutes, but as soon as you can touch them you need to make the gnocchi otherwise it won’t bind properly.
> Cut each potato in half.
> Scoop out the flesh and place in a small bowl.
> Place the potato in a potato ricer and push through into a large bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer.
> Add in the 2 egg yolks.
> Add in 1 1/2 cups of flour and mix until a dough forms and comes away from the side of the bowl.
> Lightly flour the work surface and then split the dough into three equal parts.
> Work each piece of the dough with your hand and roll it into a long, thin cord. Try not to add too much flour as your gnocchi will end up tough.
> This was as thin as I could get mine, when I make it again I’ll probably split the dough into more than 3 cords.
> Have a couple of pieces of kitchen paper laid out and then cut the cords into small pieces about 1 inch across. Place them on the kitchen paper to dry.
> Bring a large saucepan of lightly salted water to the boil.
> Once boiling, add the gnocchi to the
water.
> Cook the gnocchi until they start to float and then cook them for 1 minute longer.
> Once cooked, drain the gnocchi in a colander.
> Serve immediately with your favourite pasta sauce or, like us in a Thai curry! It made a really nice change and made a lovely change to a normal curry.
Enjoy 🙂
