Hiya everyone, today I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on the new Kiko Instamoisture Foundation along with a wear test. This is the first foundation I’ve tried from Kiko Cosmetics and… I’m impressed!
Kiko is a brand I’ve wanted to try for ages, but although we can order it online in the UK, actual shops are few and far between and sometimes you just want to test something and see it in the flesh before you buy it. When we were away in France last month, I found a Kiko shop and bought a few bits to try. I was so impressed with certain products they made it into my September Favourites!
Foundations take a little bit longer to test, but after trying this for almost a month, I feel ready to share my thoughts on it!
COST
The Kiko Instamoisture Foundation is £14.99 for 30ml/1 fl.oz
Cost per ml is £0.49 which is impressive!
PACKAGING
The foundation is in a glass bottle with a plastic cap and a pump.
For under £15 I’m very happy with the packaging because there are some higher end brands which don’t come with a pump. The glass feels nice and heavy, the cap doesn’t feel too cheap and brittle and the pump is nice and smooth. It doesn’t spatter product everywhere.
SHADE RANGE
This foundation comes in 21 shades and comes in neutral, warm and cool undertones. For a more affordable brand, I’m impressed that I managed to find a shade as oftentimes I find that the shade ranges can be very niche – as in from light tan skin to tan skin and that’s about it. Shades usually have a shade called “porcelain” but I find this to be nothing like the correct colour for me. Porcelain is normally orange on me.
I do think that there could be a few more darker shades as there’s only 4 true dark shades. Most of the shades are for a light-medium skin tone.
I am happy to report that the shade 1N (my shade) is not too orange/yellow which is a huge problem that I have normally.

I can’t say that it moisturises the skin for 24 hours as I don’t wear foundation for that long, in fact I don’t know anyone who wears their foundation that long! All I can say is that it isn’t drying on the skin, my skin doesn’t feel any more or less dry after wearing it. It is moisturising in so far as, it doesn’t dry out the skin or cling to dry patches.
I would agree that it blurs pores, or at least doesn’t sink into them. I would half agree with the radiant and medium coverage claims. While it definitely isn’t a matte foundation, it’s not really glowy. It’s more of a healthy sheen. I would say you can build it to a good medium coverage, but one pump is a pretty light medium coverage. The coverage is perfect for me though as I like to even out my skin, but still have my freckles show through.
I like the fact that it has added SPF. I like that it has some added skincare benefits, I’m not clued up on what raspberry extract does, but I like aloe vera and so does my skin. Whether there’s enough in there to have much effect, I don’t know.
WEAR TEST
I have worn this foundation many times now and always for at least 10 hours. It looks flawless all day, it never looks heavy and it doesn’t separate from the skin noticeably. As it wears some coverage will go, but it wears in a nice way, it doesn’t go patchy etc.
I don’t feel the need to set this foundation with powder, but it will depend on your skin type.
As soon as I finish my makeup:
After 6 hours: Still looking flawless, it doesn’t look heavy, hasn’t sunk into my pores, I don’t feel that it needs powder or is looking too glowy:
After 10 hours: It looks pretty glowy by now and if I was going out for the evening, I would give myself a light powder. However, it’s held up really well and hasn’t faded too much. It doesn’t look heavy on the skin either:
REVIEW
I didn’t know what to expect with the Instamoisture foundation to begin with as I’ve never tried any from Kiko before, but I had high hopes as soon as I put it on as it just looked beautiful on the skin. Very natural and skin like, slightly luminous, but not shiny or greasy.
It doesn’t cling to dry patches or the side of my nose, it doesn’t pool in my pores, it looks weightless on the skin.
Coverage wise, it’s the lighter end of medium with one pump. You can build it up in areas you need it and it does build up well. It doesn’t look cakey or heavy when you add another layer.
It’s one of those foundations where you can put it on and forget about it because it will stay looking flawless all day, which I love! I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this foundation, especially for the price. If you’re on the lookout for a new foundation to try, I would really recommend the Kiko Instamoisture.
I would say that any skin type could wear this, it really lives up to its moisture claim; I have some very dry patches on my face and this doesn’t emphasise any flakes or patches.
If you have very oily skin, you may want to set it, but I think it will work for normal, combo and dry skin types. This has gone straight into my top 5 foundations and it’s made me want to try more from Kiko!
