Today I’m sharing swatches of the Revolution Pro Eyeshadow Refill Packs I currently own. This is my first foray into budget eyeshadows; these packs are £5 for 5 eyeshadows. They’re also frequently either half price or 3 for 2, so there’s opportunity for you to get a real bargain!
I currently have six packs of these eyeshadows now and have been quite enjoying them. I have to admit, I’m used to high end makeup and while high end doesn’t always equal high quality, I was a bit worried these eyeshadows would be rubbish! I’m definitely pleasantly surprised by them!
PROS
These shadows are really smooth and pigmented. The metallics are nice and foiled, the mattes are buildable and blend well. I haven’t had issues of them muddying together, but I only typically create looks with a few shadows, so I can’t speak for complex eye looks.
They last well on top of my eyeshadow base and I don’t find them smudging all over the place. There aren’t any full on glitters in my packs, so I haven’t experienced any fall out of the metallic shades.
The matte shades do have a little fallout, but nothing crazy and if you tap your brush off then you won’t end up with any on your cheeks.
CONS
The only con I’ve found is that they are only sold in packs of 5 and you can’t choose which shades. In the packs Base and Up In Smoke there are light cream shades and I wanted both packs because of the other colours, but now I’ve got two creams that are almost identical.
It would be great if you could make your own packs of these eyeshadow packs. You select 5 colours and then you get them in a pack? That would be cool.
I also came upon the same issues with a couple of other packs; Tame, Millennial and Burnt. A few of the colours are soooo similar I wouldn’t have purchased both if they were for sale individually.
THOUGHTS
Overall, I’m impressed with these shadows and they would be great for someone just entering the single eyeshadow world! It’s a cheap way to build your collection and have a pretty good variety of colours. If having a few double ups doesn’t bother you, then I’d definitely recommend these shadows.
There are a few more packs available, that I don’t have, I’ll leave links to them at the bottom of this post. Now, onto the swatches:
REVOLUTION PRO EYESHADOW REFILL PACK IN UP IN SMOKE – £2.50 from Revolution Beauty (Normally £5)
This is your basic, cool toned pack. I’m really into cool tones right now, so this pack of shadows is great!!
REVOLUTION PRO EYESHADOW REFILL PACK IN BASE – £2.50 from Revolution Beauty (Normally £5)
This pack is your basic, neutral shadows. Again, you can’t go wrong with this set, all the shades are great.
REVOLUTION PRO EYESHADOW REFILL PALETTE IN NEUTRAL GROUND – £5 from Revolution Beauty
I find the colours picked for this pack a little strange, but I can’t fault the formula. There’s three warm and 2 cool shadows in this pack.
REVOLUTION PRO EYESHADOW REFILL PACK IN MILLENNIAL – £5 from Revolution Beauty
I love the deep pinks in this pack! This is one seriously gorgeous, pack for those of you who love warm tones. This was the only pack where a couple of the shadows (the reddy pink ones) were a bit harder to build up and slightly streaky. Still workable though.
REVOLUTION PRO EYESHADOW REFILL PACK IN BURNT – £2.50 from Revolution Beauty (Normally £5)
This is another warm tone pack, but this has fun, brighter colours in! This pack is perfect for Spring/Summer!
REVOLUTION PRO EYESHADOW REFILL PACK IN TAME – £2.50 from Revolution Beauty (Normally £5)
This is an earthy, warm/neutral pack which I love. This one makes me think of Autumn, it would create some really gorgeous looks!
