The Pretty Pintastic Party #153

21.4.17 By Annie N

HI EVERYONE!

Happy Friday and welcome to this week’s Pretty Pintastic Party! I hope you’ve all had a good week, I finally got back in the kitchen this week and shared this amazing Hot Cross Bun Bread Pudding on Tuesday. Life has certainly been tough recently, but I’m feeling a bit better and a bit more positive this week, so I finally felt in the right head space to bake and blog.

I guess I’ve been lucky these past few years with my mental health; I’m on anti depressants every day and I’ve been pretty stable, but I know medication isn’t perfect; it doesn’t mean I’m never going to have a bout of depression again. I’ve definitely learnt that in the last 6 weeks.

On top of feeling crap, I also get annoyed at myself because I don’t have anything to be depressed about, but I know no matter how many times I try and remind myself, it doesn’t change anything. If you suffer from depression, you’ll understand what I mean as it’s hard to describe, but you can’t just pick and choose to never have it again. Boy, do I wish I could just decide to be happy and pull myself out of it, but it doesn’t work like that.

Anyway, I’m excited to start sharing recipes with you again next week; I’ve already got some Twix Cupcakes ready to go and I’ll be making some Lemon and Blackberry Muffins over the weekend. I actually enjoyed baking for the first time in a long time when I made the cupcakes. Hopefully I’ll continue feeling more positive as I hate when life affects my work.

Have a great weekend!
