The Pretty Pintastic Party #149

24.3.17 By Annie N

HI EVERYONE.

Welcome to The Pretty Pintastic Party.

This has been one hell of an awful week. Poppy took a turn for the worse over the weekend, so we took her to the vets on Monday and that vet made it sound like she was literally at death’s door, so I just burst into tears as we know that she’s completely normal when her pain medication works. We thought she probably just needed an increase in dose as she was on a small dose to see how she reacted. She had us triple her dose and then the next day she could hardly walk as it can sometimes have an effect on coordination. So we decided to knock her dose down a little as it just didn’t seem right and she definitely seems more with it and like herself.

I’ve felt so unbelievably low this week, we obviously know we are going to lose her at some stage and it’s horrendous knowing what is coming, but right now she can still walk, use her tail and go to the loo herself, so until the time comes when she can no longer walk/go to the loo, I don’t think we are being cruel. We are doing everything for her; she is still completely compos mentis, has her appetite, gets excited for walks, plays with her toys and is generally happy. I think we will know when it’s time as she will have given up and the medication will no longer work. Right now, it’s working and she seems much happier and not in pain.

Literally just burst into tears writing this, so I’m going to go now. I have no idea when I’ll be back in the kitchen, she is my priority right now and I want to spend as much time as possible with her, so I’m sorry I won’t be blogging normally.
